Felt the left quad a bit when going up and down stairs this morning, so (since it’s winter anyway) the plan is changing to just do bike work for the next seven weeks.

30 minutes on the indoor bike trainer. Taking a long break from running to let the left quad heal.

The first “cold” morning for a run. About 14 degrees and 6 with the wind chill. We had a foot of snow yesterday and the weather now is that post-snow “clear and cold.” Feels good.

Today’s run was a 5.1 mile hills route. Pace is a mystery (watch died). The roads were still very slick in places so I bet the pace was a slow, “pick your steps” pace of around 10:30.

Took a few days off to let the quad acclimate a bit. One day at a time.

Hyannis in late February is not a hard-and-fast commitment. We’ll see how it goes. I figure that I’ll wait until later January and if all looks OK then register.

Today’s run was a 2.1 mile rolling hills route. Pace was 09:34.

Up the distance a bit more. I could feel the left quad but again not really painful. Another nice and cool morning with no rain. It’s winter but not crazy cold yet. I’m sure that it’s coming. Who cares.

Today’s run was a 3.95 mile rolling hills route. Pace was an easy 10:08.

Start some running again with some short distance stuff. Might be able to get ramped up in time for Hyannis in late February but we’ll see. One day at a time.

Today’s run was a 1.5 mile rolling hills route. Pace was 9:56.
