A cool, mostly-clear morning. Temperature was around 40 and no real wind.

One of the things about getting out early is that you see the early morning sky just before sunrise. This morning there was a very thin crescent Moon low in the southeast. I’ve also seen Venus and mercury together and the end of a lunar eclipse. And skunks.

Today’s run was a 4.15 mile flat/mildly rolling hills route at an easy 9:52 pace. Weight was 150.0.

A mild morning for a run. The rain finally moved out. Rain isn’t really an issue but days of it gets a bit old. OK, enough already.

Today’s run was a 7.15 mile relatively flat route. Pace was 9:36. Weight was 151.4.

A wet early morning. Rain isn’t usually a big deal unless it’s a thunderstorm. That’s different. I’m nuts but not that nuts.

Today’s run was a 7.15 mile mostly flat route. Pace was 9:34. Weight was 150.4.

There’s a good route right from the hotel that has lots of vertical. My smartwatch says that I climbed 27 flights of stairs.

The weather was perfect. Wind wasn’t bad at all and the rain moved out just in time. On the final mile the Sun came out.

Today’s run was a 4.6 mile on a good, long hills route. Pace was 09:35. Weight is TBD since the hotel didn’t have a scale.

Training Log 04/23/21

Today was a short run. We’re heading out tomorrow for a long drive, so getting tired isn’t the smartest plan. Besides, the ankle can use the break.

Today’s run was a 2.2 mile easy run on a mildly rolling route. Pace was 09:57. Weight was 151.0.

Training Log 04/22/21

Nice early morning for a run. No wildlife on the roads, although the turkeys were making noise in a few nearby yards as I’d run by.

Ankle is still complaining. I might take a few days next week to see what some rest does.

Today’s run was a 7.15 mostly flat route. Pace was 9:47. Weight was 151.2.

First day with the ankle braces. Not bad. They help and that’s all anyone should expect. The idea here is to provide some support to try to both keep training and allow some healing to occur. It’s trial and error.

Today’s run was a 4.0 hills route, or as many hills as I can get while staying close to home. I didn’t want to go too far and then have some ankle or wrap issue. Pace was 9:46. Weight was 150.8.

Training Log 04/19/21

Great early morning for a run. Perfect weather. Feels good to start to include longer distances.

The ankle is still being annoying. I have some wraps due from Amazon tomorrow so we’ll see how they help.

Today’s run was fairly flat 7.15 mile route. Pace was 9:34. Weight was 151.0.

Training Log 04/17/21

Took a few days off to “rest” the ankle. I don’t think that days off are the answer though. It’s going to be more of an active daily management to limit range of motion and provide support.

Today’s run was a short 2.67 mile rolling hills route. Pace was 9:44. Weight was 150.0.

Training Log 04/14/21

A cool, drizzly early morning for today’s run. Temperature around 42 and no wind. Rain isn’t really an issue unless it’s a deluge.

The ankle is still an issue, but if I wrap it then it’s not bad on flat stretches. Hills are annoying. I don’t like keeping anything wrapped all day but I might for the next several days to see if I can both run and get some improvement.

Today’s run was a 4.0 mile hills route. Pace was a “don’t push the ankle” 9:59. Weight was 149.6.
