Good run this morning. The leg is annoying (left quad area) but we’ll see how it goes.

A 62 year old's journey to qualify for the Boston Marathon
Good run this morning. The leg is annoying (left quad area) but we’ll see how it goes.
Today’s run was a 10.6 mile rolling hills route. Pace was 9:33. Weight was 149.0.
After a few days to let some things get a bit better, it’s back to training. There are a few 5K + half marathon races left for the year, but the Chevron Houston Marathon is in mid-January. No time to slack off. Rainy and in the 50’s — who cares.
Today’s run was a 5.1 mile hills route. Pace was 9:21. Weight was 149.2.
Another half marathon race this morning. The route is through the Hamilton and Ipswich back-roads and is picturesque. Classic New England Fall.
Temperature was about 40 (maybe in the high 30’s) at the start and not a cloud in the sky. Some wind though. Once the Sun climbed up higher in the sky the wind wasn’t so cold.
Ran a PR of 1:52:11. I didn’t think I was pushing that hard. Weird. I didn’t even take a Camelbak and instead stopped at a few water stations.
Today’s run was a 13.1 mile mostly flat route. Gentle rises and a few short climbs, but flat otherwise. Pace was a PR of 8:34. Weight was 147.2.
A day for a nice, easy, not-too-long run on a day before a race. Good, cool weather and no rain.
Today’s run was a 5.1 mile hills route. Pace was 9:21. Weight was 148.6.
A dark early morning for a longer run. It just seemed darker. Probably my imagination, but just a bit spooky.
Today’s run was a 12.5 mile rolling hills route. Pace was 9:26. Weight was 148.6 (again).
Today’s run was a 7.1 mile mostly flat route. Pace was 9:31. Weight was 148.6.
Fall early mornings are great for runs. Not humid, warm, etc. Just the best time.
Today’s run was a 5.1 mile hills route. Pace was 9:34. Weight was 148.6.
This is the route I used to think of as the “average” run. It’s too flat and short. Good off-day or recovery route, but not good enough for marathon training.
Today’s run was a 7.1 mile mostly flat route. Pace was 9:07. Weight was 147.2.
Nice early morning for a run. This is the route I want to get to as the “average” run.
Today’s run was a 10.6 mile rolling hills route. Pace was 9:34. Weight was 147.4.
Back to it. This is no time to slack off. The marathons are done for the year, but there are still a few 16.2 mile (5K + half marathon) and half marathon races to go.
Today’s run was a post-race 5.1 mile route with a few good hills. Legs feel a bit tired, but not sore. Pace was 9:35. Weight was 149.4.
