One more perfect-weather morning. Woke up late, so I trimmed the planned 8 mile ride down to what I did yesterday. The traffic on the 8-mile route gets busier the later it gets.

Today’s ride was a 4.36 mile mostly flat route with a short, 10+% grade hill at the end. Pace was 4:37, almost identical to yesterday.

Perfect morning for a ride. Dry, clear, and temperature around 64. The legs feel a bit tired at the start, but it gets better as I warm up. I’ve noticed this at races as well.

Today’s ride was a fairly flat 4.36 mile route, with a short, 10%+ grade hill at the end. Pace was 4:38.

A cool, wet morning. Glad to have the rain. Everything’s brown around here.

Today’s ride was a 10.6 mile rolling hills route. Pace was 4:46. Some days are faster but feel the same.

Sundays are usually when I plan for long runs. Since I’m still on the bike, I decided to make it a long ride Sunday. It was a very nice morning to get going and put in some distance.

Today’s ride was my 17.35 mile rolling hills with flat stretches route I use for long runs. Ride pace was 4:27, and that was with having to slow/stop at several intersections.

Training Log 08/12/2022

Pleasant morning for a ride. Very mild and dry. Some wind, but who cares. Grinding into the wind is good training.

Today’s ride was a 7.64 mildly rolling route, with a few hills. Pace was 4:41.

Finally a break in the heat. Nice, cool, wet morning for a ride. I want both. It’s been all heat for weeks now.

Today’s ride was an 8.05 mile rolling hills route. Pace was 4:25.

Training Log 08/08/2022

Another warm, steamy morning. Good for training.

Today’s ride was a 4.36 mile very mildly rolling route with a 0.15 mile climb at 10+% at the end. Pace was 4:32.

Training Log 08/07/2022

Warm early morning. Some high clouds, but nothing substantial at all.

This week the miles start to ramp up. I plan on three more weeks on the bike, then start dipping my toe into running. It all depends on how the knee feels. Next week starts some exercises to work the knee gently into shape.

Today’s ride was a 10.6 mile rolling hills route. Pace was 4:32. Speed is 21.3 km/hour. The pro peloton rides a bit faster.

Training Log 08/05/2022

A slightly warmer, dry, clear morning. Not much traffic at 5AM. The knee feels better but there are still moments when you can feel “something.” I don’t plan on any running anytime soon. I’ll start some knee exercises and stretching in a few weeks.

Today’s ride was a 5.1 mile hills route. Pace was 4:27.

Training Log 08/04/2022

Another mild/cool, clear morning. The past several mornings have been almost identical. Next week it’ll probably be storms solid all week.

Today’s ride was a 6.43 mile mildly rolling route with a .15 mile 10%+ grade hill at the end. Pace was 4:30.
