A cool, clear early morning. I got flu and Covid shots on Tuesday morning, and I’m still recovering a bit. Being under the weather for a day or two is a small price to pay to (hopefully) avoid the worst of the flu and Covid.
Today’s run was a hills 4.83 mile route, with the short 10%+ grade hill at the end. Pace was a relaxed 10:00. Weight was 146.8.
Perfect early morning for a longer run. Need to be kicking the miles up a bit. The last time I tried 8 miles the knee felt a bit sore later in the day. Nothing bad though. Today — no issues. I’ll take tomorrow off, but it’s more of a cautious “don’t push too hard” approach and not because of issues.
Since the run was early in the morning, I got the chance to see the Moon slip into and be eclipsed by the Earth. It started with the Moon partially in the penumbra, and ended with the Moon a very dark, dull red in the umbra.
Today’s run was an 8.05 mile rolling hills route. Pace was 9:50. Weight was 146.6.
Gave the knee a few days off. The 8.05 mile route caused some soreness later in the day and the next day. It wasn’t bad at all–just a bit sore. A few days rest and back to it.
Crazy weather. It was about 68 degrees at 8AM on an early November morning. We’re probably due for a polar vortex in a few days.
Today’s run was a 4.83 mile rolling hills route. Pace was 9:33. Weight was 145.2.
Colder this early morning. Temperature was around 32 degrees. Clear and no wind. I’ll take it. Better to be 32 and clear than 32 and drizzle (= ice and slick roads).
I decided to up the distance to more like what I was running. Test things out. This afternoon I can feel a little discomfort in the knee, but it’s not bad at all. I’ll see how it goes overnight. Might rest it tomorrow, but if it feels OK then it’ll be back out on the road.
Today’s run was an 8.05 mile rolling route. Pace was 9:58. Weight was 145.6.
A mild, damp morning. The back strain (or whatever it is) is getting better. Hard to keep it in mind and take it easy.
Today’s run was a 4.83 mile hills route., including two climbs of the short 10%+ hill. Pace was 9:48. Weight was 147.2.
Back to it. Did something strange to my back, so a few days rest were in order.
Nice morning for a run. Clear and 41 degrees.
Today’s run was a 3.75 mile hills route. Took it easier due to the back issue. Pace was 9:58. Weight was 147.2.
A warm (59 degrees), damp and clear early morning. Two days ago, the route felt a bit challenging. Today, it’s not as difficult. The body remembers putting in the miles. It’s sort of like “scraping off the rust.”
Today’s run was a 5.26 mile hills route, with the short 10%+ hill at the end. Pace was 9:32. Weight was 146.0.
Warm and very foggy early morning. Running in the dark when it’s foggy is not fun. Lots of lane switching to be in the “other lane” as cars go by.
Today’s run was a 5.26 mile hills route, with the short 10%+ hill at the end. Pace was 9:33. Weight was 145.0.
Rain is on the way, so get the run in early. Yesterday was a full day getting cedar shingles up on a few sections of the house. Totally focused on that yesterday. Back to the roads today.
Today’s run was a 3.85 mostly flat route with the short 10%+ hill at the end. Pace was 9:23. Weight was 148.2.
