Race day. A cool/cold, damp and rainy day. Also a somewhat tired day. Whatever. Lots of people out cheering. They really do a fantastic job.
The race started out OK weather-wise, but it started to mist/light rain with wind by about mile 7 or so. Conditions improved by about mile 13. I’ll take it anytime — it could’ve been a lot worse. The day before was mostly rain and a cold wind.
No issues at all with the hamstring, but at the top of the hill at about mile 13.5 I started to feel a cramp in the right leg just above the knee. I wanted a faster pace but decided to keep to a more measured pace to avoid cramping more. I noticed it a few more times briefly, but that’s it.
Today was the Cincinnati Flying Pig Marathon. Pace was 10:45, which is about 30 seconds better than Death Valley. The total climb for the course was around 1350 feet.
