Training Log 10/16/2021

This is the route I used to think of as the “average” run. It’s too flat and short. Good off-day or recovery route, but not good enough for marathon training.

Today’s run was a 7.1 mile mostly flat route. Pace was 9:07. Weight was 147.2.

Back to it. This is no time to slack off. The marathons are done for the year, but there are still a few 16.2 mile (5K + half marathon) and half marathon races to go.

Today’s run was a post-race 5.1 mile route with a few good hills. Legs feel a bit tired, but not sore. Pace was 9:35. Weight was 149.4.

Today was the Newport Marathon. Unfortunately, I only ended up running about 20.9 miles. Infuriating. I came up a hill, saw a race official person in the middle of the road, saw runners heading left instead of going straight, and just followed everyone else. What I should’ve done was follow the road I was on to the right and continue up the hill. No clue why nobody said anything. This was a just before mile 18, so I was getting a bit tired. In the end it was my job to know where to run. The most infuriating part was that I was on a pace for a PR. Live and learn, I guess.

Today’s race/run was an estimated 20.9 mile rolling hills route. Pace was 9:32. Weight was 148.4.
