Really up the distance. The added part includes a nice, challenging climb. Thank goodness for those easy gears!

Adding some distance to the rides. It isn’t a bad way to cross-train at all. I did something like this last year and I remember not having any issues at all with running pace.

No knee issues when riding. It’s strictly an impact-type pain, deep in the center of the joint. I think that the hardest part is taking the time to heal and not rushing back to running. I’m not known for my patience.

Cool morning for a ride. Not too much wind, but it’s still cold when you get some speed up!

Well, the knee didn’t like the run on May 9th at all. Time to “switch gears:”

Back to it, after a few days of knee rest. Break time is over. Let’s see how the knee responds.

Damp, cool morning. Temperature about 42. Just at that point where a hat and running gloves are needed for a while.
The knee still gets inflamed a bit after I get back. It stiffens up when sitting. Felt OK after getting up and walking around. Tried a wrap this morning during the run but it didn’t seem to make any difference.
Today’s run was a 4.2 mile fairly flat route. Pace was 9:58. Weight was 151.4.
Changed plans a bit late last night. Running a route with some vertical is more work, so I swapped in looping route to pull in the “hills” that I have around. Nice temperatures — 46 or so.
