A good early morning after all the nasty weather. Mostly clear and temperature in the 40’s.

The hamstring is just a little bit sore, so take it easy and get some hills work in. The climb at the end is only about 0.15 miles long but averages a 10% grade. Races coming up have some mile+ long climbs.

Today’s run was a 5.26 mile hills route. Pace was 10:03, target pace was 9:55 (I was thinking 10:10). Total climb was around 325 feet.

A day to get out before the Nor’easter hits. Lots of nasty stuff on the radar. Hopefully I can get back before any lightning.

Today’s run was a 4.33 mile rolling hills route. Not the run I planned, but at least it’s getting a little work in before the flood. Pace was 10:00, target pace was 9:55. Total climb was about 205 feet.

Not exactly the run that was planned. Less than a mile out and I see a bright flash. I was hoping that it was just a nearby streetlight, but nope. Thunder after a few seconds. One more flash a few seconds later. OK, not a day to be out asking to be hit by lightning. Nuts.

Today’s run was an abbreviated 2.18 mile rather flat route. The last half was in a rainstorm. Pace was about 10:06, target pace was 10:20. Total climb was only about 90 feet.

Back to running after a few days off to recover from Sunday. Perfect early morning. Still felt tired, but it’s time to dial it up.

Today’s run was a 5.12 mile hills route. Pace was 9:44, target pace was 9:55. Total climb was around 275 feet.

Race day. A cool/cold, damp and rainy day. Also a somewhat tired day. Whatever. Lots of people out cheering. They really do a fantastic job.

The race started out OK weather-wise, but it started to mist/light rain with wind by about mile 7 or so. Conditions improved by about mile 13. I’ll take it anytime — it could’ve been a lot worse. The day before was mostly rain and a cold wind.

No issues at all with the hamstring, but at the top of the hill at about mile 13.5 I started to feel a cramp in the right leg just above the knee. I wanted a faster pace but decided to keep to a more measured pace to avoid cramping more. I noticed it a few more times briefly, but that’s it.

Today was the Cincinnati Flying Pig Marathon. Pace was 10:45, which is about 30 seconds better than Death Valley. The total climb for the course was around 1350 feet.
