Training Log 04/11/2025

I expected an early morning run in the rain, but not snow. The cars and yards were covered. Temperature was right at about 32 degrees, so the precipitation was more sleet than rain. I didn’t get all that wet. All I cared about was being able to distinguish between just a puddle and a pothole/crater filled with water.

Today’s run was a 7.15 mile rolling hills route. Pace was 10:15, target pace was 10:20. Total climb was about 350 feet.

Training Log 04/10/2025

A cold (for Spring) early morning. Temperature around 24 degrees. Glad I haven’t washed and packed away the Winter gear. It’ll probably be 90 degrees next week.

Today’s run was a 9.05 mile rolling hills route. Pace was 10:05, target was 10:50. Total climb around 465 feet.

Training Log 04/07/2025

A cold and wet early morning for a run. A combination of rain and sleet. Temperature somewhere around 35 degrees. Yeah, whatever. About the only issue is “do I wear a baseball hat to keep the rain/sleet out of my eyes, or wear a hat that covers the ears but will get soaked?”

Today’s run was an easy 9.05 mile rolling hills route. Pace was 10:19, target was 10:20. Total climb was about 465 feet.

I keep forgetting to add these. The markets are taking all the attention these days.

Today’s run was an easy 4.33 mile rolling hills route. Pace was 10:10, target was 10:50. Total climb was around 205 feet.

Training Log 04/01/2025

A warm, windy and damp early morning for a run. Temperature at the start was a bit over 50 degrees, but was dropping while I was out there. A brisk but not cold wind in places as well. At least it wasn’t totally fogged in like yesterday. That was too thick to do much in the dark.

Today’s run was a 9.05 mile rolling hills route. Pace was a tired 10:15, target pace was 10:20. Total climb around 465 feet.

Training Log 03/30/2025

A damp and cool morning. Temperature around 34 degrees but not much wind. Nice and easy back onto the roads.

Today’s run was a 4.33 mile rolling hills route. Pace was an oddly coincidental 10.0, target pace was 10:20. Total climb was around 205 feet.

Training Log 03/27/2025

One more cooler-than-normal early morning. Temperature around 29 and a very cool breeze. Nice to get out for a longer run. Also glad to see that there aren’t too many moon-crater-sized potholes. It’s still cold enough to get frost heaves and cracking pavement.

No issues with the hamstring or bruised ribs.

Today’s run was a 14.01 mile rolling hills route. Pace was 10:24, target pace was 10:50. Total climb was around 710 feet.

Training Log 03/24/2025

A somewhat cool early morning for later March. Temperature around 28 degrees. Warmer than winter, but not Spring. The only issue I have is that it’ll go from around 30 on training days to 60 (or higher) for a race.

Today’s run was a 9.05 mile rolling hills route. Pace was 10:24, target pace was 10:20. Total climb was about 465 feet.

Training Log 03/22/2025

A very nice early morning for a run. Temperature around 32 degrees, no wind, and mostly clear skies. It’s been a busy and hectic past few days, so I was very glad to finally get our on the road again for a few miles.

No ribs or hamstring issues. I felt the ribs slightly after the run but only for a bit. Hopefully it’s in the past. The days away probably did help to get healed up.

Today’s run was a “get back on the road” 7.15 mile rolling hills route. Pace was 9:50, target pace was 10:20. Didn’t feel like I was pushing, just keeping the cadence. Total climb was around 350 feet.

Training Log 03/18/2025

One more nice early morning for a run. Temperature around 35 degrees and a bit of wind in places. Running into winds like that mean more work, and that’s what we’re out there for.

Ribs felt fine. Totally forgot about it. I felt just a twinge afterward for a while, but that’s it. Fingers crossed that it stays that way.

The hamstring doesn’t complain during a run, even uphill. One more set of fingers crossed……

Today’s run was a 9.05 mile rolling hills route. Pace was 9:55, target pace was 10:20. Total climb was around 465 feet.
