A short workout today on the indoor trainer. It was a long drive back from Cincinnati. There’s tired from a workout and there’s physically & mentally tired from a trip. Listen to your body. Take a break when it says to.

Today’s ride was a short 15.8 minute workout.

A better early morning route for a run. Mapping out routes when you’re on the road is always a challenge. Cool weather, good pavement (or at least I didn’t see the potholes). Not much of a distance, though. Not the best a week before a race.

Today’s run was a 3.15 mile route with long grades. Not steep, but long grades. Pace was 9:51. Total climb was about 235 feet.

Oh, what a fun run in Cincinnati. Lots of traffic on a few narrow, winding roads. Nice weather, but not the time to be out on the road. I wanted to get up a bit earlier but we were really, really tired after a 15-hour drive yesterday. OK — do what I can.

Today’s run was a 3.16 mile loop around west from U. of Cincinnati, including a 0.45 mile climb at an average grade of about 11%. Pace was about 10:26, but that’s just a guess (forgot to start my watch). Total climb was about 340 feet.

A tired early morning run. I wanted to put in a long run, but the legs started to really feel the work from yesterday on the bike. OK — listen to the feedback and scale down. Since I did reduce the miles, I added some pace to push it a bit.

Today’s run was a 14.57 mile rather flat run. Pace was 9:43. Weight was 146.4. Total climb was 430 feet.

One of the last days for the indoor bike trainer. It’s a good workout: my legs ache for a while afterwards. That’s the point.

Today’s ride was a 30-minute stiff workout. Weight was 146.4.

Nice morning for a short run. Rain and about 48 degrees. Today was a “do a little work to loosen things up” day. Finally have most of the nagging, annoying little injuries mostly behind me.

I’ve heard people complain about running in the rain because their shoes get heavier. True, but I’ve never really noticed.

Today’s run was a short 2.18 mile rather flat route. Pace was a relaxed 9:46. Weight was 146.4. Total climb was a “staggering” 90 feet.

A comfortable early morning for a run. Fridays have a bit less traffic. I’m usually hung up at a few intersections, but that’s not a big deal. The rain we had yesterday and last evening moved out, so the resulting lakes along the sides of roads weren’t too large by the morning. It’s hard to spot potholes when they’re filled with water.

Today’s run was a 11.22 mile rolling hills route. Pace was 9:29. Weight was 146.2. Total climb was about 595 feet.

Another nice Spring morning. Temperature around 45 degrees, bright sunshine, birds chirping, etc., etc. Today was another tempo run day. On the one hand, I felt rather tired, but on the other hand, apparently I was moving a bit.

Today’s run was a 4.18 mile 4-loop run around a route with some vertical. Pace was a surprising 8:56. Weight was 145.6. Total climb was about 205 feet.

Training Log 04/15/2024

Classic Spring morning. Temperature around 40 degrees, mostly clear skies and a light breeze. Today was a “tempo” run. Steady, but not sitting back. Didn’t feel too bad at all.

Today’s run was a 9.05 mile rolling hills route. Pace was 9:40. Weight was 146.2. Total climb was about 460 feet.

It’s Spring. Temperature around 53 degrees and mostly cloudy. I’ll take it. First day out without the colder weather gear.

Felt pretty good throughout the run. Just a relaxed run.

Today’s run was a 5.3 mile hills route. Pace was 9:23. Weight was 147.4. Total climb about 285 feet.
