A wet, somewhat mild, and windy early morning for a run. Glad I started out in the rain gear. It started right about half way through. One interesting benefit of rain and low clouds: the light from Gillette Stadium reflects off the low clouds and adds some light to the roads. I’ll take it. Lots of potholes out there.

Today’s run was a 15.3 mile rolling hills route. Pace was 9:56. Weight was 148.0. Total climb was about 675 feet.

Wow. Spring. Waited a bit to get the Sun up, and did some local roads work in the very nice weather. In the Fall, this would be freezing. Today, not even a jacket. Temperature around 48 degrees, a consistent breeze, and mostly clear skies. So nice to be able to see the road and all the holes, debris, etc.

Today’s run was a 1.55 mile hills route, pushing a bit. Everything feels fine. Pace was 9:09. Weight was 146.2. Total climb was about 120 feet.

A nice, cool early morning. Temperature around 30 degrees. A bit of a nippy wind though.. It numbs out the face a bit.

With the daylight savings time change, it’s back to running 100% in the dark. I think I know where all the potholes are ;-].

Today’s run was a 13.12 mile rolling hills route. Pace was 9:50. Weight was 146.8. Total climb was about 645 feet. The Cincinnati Marathon is about 1420 feet of climb.

Decided to give the foot one more day of rest yesterday. This is my only opportunity between now and the end of October. I can take a day or two (maybe) here and there, but for the most part it’s time to crank it up.

It was a cool, windy early morning. Temperature was around 30 degrees. Winds were 16 mph gusting to around 30. On some roads the buildings will increase that somewhat with a kind of “funneling” effect. No problem. It’s not that face-ripping, biting cold.

Today’s run was a 9.0 mile rolling hills route. Pace was 9:50. Weight was 147.8. Total climb was about 460 feet.

First day back to running. I felt the area on my right foot for about the first mile or so. That’s it. OK, maybe be careful with foot placement and start back to some distance. It could be that I was running more on the outer edge of my foot, for some reason, at the race last Sunday. Beats me.

Today’s run was a 4.23 mile mostly flat route. Pace was 9:30. Weight was 147.4. Total climb was about 165 feet.

Thought I’d try some time on the indoor trainer. No impact on the foot.

Today’s ride was a 30 minute moderate session on the indoor trainer. Weight was 147.2.

Forgot to record this. Not the best day at a race. Somewhere along the route I stepped on or into something that hurt my right foot. No clue where or what. The outer-most bone area in the middle part of the edge hurts. It wasn’t bad, and I ran into the second loop around the half marathon route until a point where we turned away from the start area. I decided to bag it at that point, rather than keep going and maybe it gets really bad in a few more miles. Damned if I know what happened.

Not a fun experience quitting a race like that. Take some time off and see how it feels.

Today’s run was a 16.85 mile mostly flat route. Pace was 10:03. The total climb was probably around 400 feet.

A mild morning for a pre-race easy run. temperature was around 42 or so, or at least it felt like it. No cold bite in the air at all. Rain is on the way, but I’m hoping it comes and goes before race time tomorrow.

Today’s run was a 2.18 mile mildly rolling route. Pace was 9:49. Weight was 147.4. Total climb was about 90 feet.

A rather cool morning. Clear with a last quarter Moon. The nasty winds have died down but the breeze was still enough to freeze the face a bit.

The knee seems to be OK. It was an easy run before the race on Sunday. Get out on the road, do some distance, but don’t do anything really stressful. I ran my old mid-distance route and that has enough stress with all the traffic.

Today’s run was a 12.5 mile rolling hills route. Pace was a relaxed 10:12. Weight was 147.8. Total climb was about 580 feet.
