A warm, humid, rainy early morning. Running in the rain never bothered me, unless it’s really cold. Rain is like liquid coolant.
Today’s run was a 2.47 mile rather flat-ish route. Pace was 9:43.
A 62 year old's journey to qualify for the Boston Marathon
A warm, humid, rainy early morning. Running in the rain never bothered me, unless it’s really cold. Rain is like liquid coolant.
Today’s run was a 2.47 mile rather flat-ish route. Pace was 9:43.
Warm morning for a run. Some wind, but temperature about 71 degrees and humid. It’d be great if it stuck around for a while as I try to get the distance up.
Today’s run was a 2.05 mile rolling hills route. Pace was 9:48.
Short run, but not bad. I can feel a little something in the knee, but I’m hoping that it’s just what’s healed complaining about being used more than just walking around. We’ll see.
Today’s run was a rolling 1.51 mile route. Pace was again an easy 10:08.
First day trying a run in a while. Still felt a little something, but it wasn’t really consistent. The plan is to stay at a very short distance for several days and see how it goes. I’m also going to try a short warm-up ride before the run.
Today’s run was a 1.68 mile mildly rolling route. Not much vertical. Pace was a very easy 10:07.
A day for a longer ride. It’s nice on the weekends to be out a bit later and ride in sunshine. There were storms last night, and therefore some debris around. That and the usual gravel and sand that collects along the sides of roads. Not a real problem at all.
Today’s ride was a 21.8 mile rolling hills route. Pace was 4:31.
One more mild/cool morning. Traffic wasn’t too bad. Stone debris like driveway gravel along a few places.
Today’s ride was a 12.5 rolling hills route. Pace was 4:42.
Mild, overcast, and damp. Finally. No arguments with rain at all. I think we’ll take all we can get at this point.
I can still feel “something” in the knee. Not a problem. I’ll work it slowly back into shape.
Today’s ride was a mildly rolling 4.78 mile route with a short, 10%+ grade hill near the end. Pace was 4:31.
The early morning wasn’t very “cool.” I decided on the lightest jacket I had since, at the start, it was just cool enough to be annoying when moving at a good speed. It also adds some resistance (= extra work).
Today’s ride was a 19.86 mile rolling hills route with some flat sections. Pace was 4:44. It was probably a bit faster due to the many stoplights. Who cares.
A warm later-morning ride. It’s nice to get out in the sun a bit. More traffic, but it’s worth it to get out at what feels like “during the day” and not pre-dawn all the time.
Today’s ride was a 17.36 mile rolling route with some long flat stretches. Pace was 4:18.
One more perfect-weather morning. Woke up late, so I trimmed the planned 8 mile ride down to what I did yesterday. The traffic on the 8-mile route gets busier the later it gets.
Today’s ride was a 4.36 mile mostly flat route with a short, 10+% grade hill at the end. Pace was 4:37, almost identical to yesterday.
