Today was a run that seemed hard right from the start. At about mile 9 it was getting that ragged feel to it. The target was 24.4 miles but after 18 I was spent. One important lesson that I’ve learned is to listen to your body. Pushing too hard if it’s not an actual race isn’t worth the risk of injury or something worse.
Today’s run was an 18 mile rolling hills route on a cloudy, 70 degree, humid, light spritzy rain morning. Pace was a tired 10:07. Weight was 147.0 before the run and 144 after. Interesting. I had my Camelbak — maybe I wasn’t taking in enough fluids. That’s what training/practice runs are for. Test, test, test.
