A cold, brisk day for a run. No complaints — I’ll take this over a steamy summer morning anytime. Temperature was around 12 degrees and mildly breezy.

A cold, brisk day for a run. No complaints — I’ll take this over a steamy summer morning anytime. Temperature was around 12 degrees and mildly breezy.
Today’s run was a 1.68 mile rolling hills loop. Pace was 9:39. Weight was 150.0.
A bitter cold day for adding just a bit of distance. Stiff winds with a wind chill below zero. Just a day for heads-down, take it not too fast and pay attention to how things feel.
Today’s run was a 1.67 mile rolling hills loop. One hill at 7% and the other has a max grade of about 12%. Pace was 9:56. Weight was 150.8.
Today was a very nice morning to run. Clear skies, not much of a breeze. So far, the knee is feeling just fine.
Today’s run was a 1.04 mile run on a route with a nice hill (7% grade). Pace was 8:57. Weight was 150.2.
Very nice morning for a run. Temperatures in the high 40’s or low 50’s. Some wind, but nothing crazy at all.
Today’s run was a 1.04 mile loop with some rolling terrain. Pace was 9:36. Weight was 150.2. Also did some bike work: 7.15 mile relatively flat route at a 4:40 pace.
Today is the second day getting back to running. Weather was a nice, “warm” low 30’s and no rain. No issues with the knee so far. It’s hard to stick to the plan and only run a short distance.
Today’s run was a 0.64 mile flat route around the house. Pace was 9:22. Weight was 150.6.
Today was the first day back to running (again). Hopefully, this time nothing will go sideways and I can start to build up the distance. Nice weather: not too cold and no rain/snow.
Today’s run was a tiny 0.64 mile flat route around the house. Pace was 9:41. Weight was 150.6.
A very cold morning again for a ride. With the breeze, the wind chill was in the single digits.
Today’s ride was a 7.15 mostly flat route. Pace was 4:55 (limited by temperature). Weight was 150.6.
I figured out that the shifter problem was due to the lubricants that were used not liking all the cold. Some penetrating oil and a short blast of WD-40 got it working again, and then some bike oil to keep it working. I plan to get some Teflon lube.
Today’s early morning ride was a bit too long for the conditions. It was about 18 degrees, a windchill of 11 and probably around a zero windchill on the bike. It was definitely colder than the 23 degrees and “feel like” of 24 that my weather app reported. My fingers and toes were frozen when I got home. Also, it was just too cold to do much speed on any downhill sections.
Today’s ride was a 12.4 mile rolling hills route. Pace was very limited by the cold at about 5:10. Weight was 150.8
A cold and breezy early morning. Temperature was in the low 20’s and the wind chill somewhere around 10. A few places on the ride were bitter but that’s it.
Today’s ride was an 8.05 mile rolling hills route. I forgot to stop my watch at the end of the ride but the pace was probably around 4:50. Weight was 150.4.
A bitter cold morning. Temperature was around 16, winds at 23 gusting over 30 and a wind chill of -9. Today was a day to stay close to home. The winds were straight down a few streets and directly across another, so I had a chance to experience first-hand what a stiff crosswind feels like.
Today’s route was two loops around home. Total distance about 2.1 miles. Mostly flat but there is a small hill. Pace was more of a “don’t get blown off the road or freeze” pace of 5:50. Weight was 152.6.
