Training Log 03/30/21

Brisk early morning for a run. Clear skies, full moon, and temperatures around 24. Not too cold at all.

Lots of turkeys yelling at 5AM. I cannot imagine living with that every morning. They’re loud from a few blocks away.

Today’s route was a fairly flat (very gently rolling) 4.2 miles. Pace was 9:27. Weight was 151.4.

Training Log 03/29/21

A very, very windy early morning. Not a big issue, just annoying. Temperature was around 48 degrees.

Route was a 4.0 mile rolling hills route. Pace was a slow 10:03. I was going for an easy run but maybe not quite that easy. Weight was 149.6.

Training Log 03/27/21

Very nice morning for a run. Went out at about 8:30. First day in memory without at least a jacket. Clear skies, temperature about 50 and not much wind.

The ankle is still annoying but it’s not a problem running. Not much of an issue at all with the knee, which is always the more pressing concern.

Today’s run was a 5.3 mile fairly flat route. Pace was 9:27. Weight was 149.2.

Training Log 03/25/21

A nice, rainy early morning for a run. Temperature was around 52 degrees with no real wind. Rain isn’t a bother too much with the right gear.

Today’s run was a 4.0 mile rolling hills route. Pace was 9:44. Weight was 150.2.

Training Log 03/22/21

Mornings are starting to get not so cold. Today it was about 30 degrees and not much wind at all.

The knee and ankle “are there,” but not complaining really. Keep it going, pay attention to form, be cautious (don’t pound down a hill, cor example) and listen to what things feel like.

Today’s run was a 4.2 mile mostly flat route. Pace was 9:26. Weight is staying stubbornly around 150.6.

Training Log 03/21/21

A “warm” morning for a run. Not a cloud in the sky. Having the Sun out adds so much heat.

Today’s run was a 3.75 mile rolling hills route. The ankle is still annoying but it’s staying at that level. No real discomfort running. Pace was 9:10. Weight was 150.4.

Training Log 03/20/21

Today was a cross-training day. The left ankle and knee (just a bit) are doing a little complaining. Nothing serious, but it’s critical to stay on top of anything that’s feeling a little stressed.

Today’s ride was a 7.15 relatively flat route. Pace was 4:41. Weight was 150.0

Training Log 03/19/21

I decided to up the distance this morning and see how everything holds up. So far, so good. What I’ve noticed is that in the past I’ve started to feel something complaining a bit later in the day. Not on the run or in the hours right after, but about 12 hours later. Fingers crossed for the rest of the day.

This morning’s run was a 3.75 mile rolling hills course. Windy with temperatures in the low 30’s. Pace was 9:36. Weight was 150.0

Training Log 03/18/21

A bit “warmer” today. Temperatures around 32 degrees and not much wind.

I get out on the road at about 5:30, and as the distances increase it’ll get earlier. Is it easy to get up and get going? No and yes. No — who wouldn’t want to sleep in? Yes — I have two live-in four-legged very demanding alarm clocks (= cats).

Today’s run was a 1.68 mile rolling hills loop. Didn’t push too hard. Pace was 9:31. Weight was 149.6.

Training Log 03/17/21

A very comfortable early morning for a run. Not too cold, no stiff wind, no rain/snow, etc. Temperature was around 23 degrees.

It’s been a week of running and no knee issues. The distances aren’t where they will be (at all), but one step at a time.

Route today was a 1.68 mile rolling hills route. I pushed it a bit today. The timer on my watch seemed to have some trouble, so the time might’ve been shorter. Who cares. Pace as read from the watch was 8:45. Weight was 150.4.
